The Alcazaba of Málaga is one of the most iconic examples of Islamic heritage in Andalusia. It’s truly a must-see — no trip to Málaga is complete without it!

Often referred to as the “Little Alhambra,” it shares a similar architectural and artistic style, as both were built during the Nasrid period.

This hilltop fortress, nestled on the slopes of Mount Gibralfaro, features elegant gardens, palatial spaces, and maze-like walls that are sure to leave you in awe.

During the tour, you’ll learn how the Christian army managed to conquer the Alcazaba — a nearly impossible feat, as it was considered one of the most impregnable fortresses of the Middle Ages.

The guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you’re visiting on a warm day, we recommend bringing sunscreen and a hat. Comfortable shoes are a must — we advise against wearing high heels.

  • Please note that the Alcazaba is not accessible for wheelchairs or for people with mobility issues.

  • The tour does NOT include entrance to Gibralfaro Castle, although the guide will provide an explanation of the castle during the tour.

  • Dogs are NOT allowed inside the Alcazaba.

Cancellation policy

If the company is responsible for the cancellation, we will offer an alternative date and time so that the client has the opportunity to join another available tour at no additional cost. If no suitable alternative can be found, a full refund will be issued.

If the cancellation is the Client’s Responsibility:

  • If cancelled 15 days or more in advance, you will receive 100% of the amount (excluding any refund processing fees).
  • If cancelled between 14 and 8 days in advance, you will receive 70% of the amount.
  • If cancelled 7 days in advance, 50% of the amount will be refunded.
  • If cancelled less than 7 days before the tour, no refund will be issued. However, you will have the option to reschedule the guided tour for another available time.
  • No refund will be issued for late arrival at the meeting point or no-shows.
  • Refunds will not be granted after the scheduled start time of the tour, regardless of the circumstances.
  • If the cancellation is requested on the same day of purchase, the refund will depend on the scheduled date of the tour, based on the conditions outlined above.
  • If you reschedule your booking and later decide to cancel, no refund will be given.
How to recognize our tour guides?

The guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point and they will be with a red umbrella. They will be very easy to recognise!

Accessibility

The tour is suitable for all ages, however it is NOT SUITABLE FOR WHEELCHAIR since the Alcazaba boasts many stairs and the terrain is very uneven.
Additionally, is complicated to visit the Alcazaba with a stroller.
