Alcazaba tour

The guided tour of the Alcazaba is the ideal way to get to know this breathtaking monument. Thanks to this visit, you will discover the history, hidden legends, and other curiosities of Islamic culture.

The Alcazaba of Málaga is one of the most emblematic Islamic heritage sites you will find here in Andalusia. It really is impossible to leave Málaga without visiting it!

It is known as ‘Little Alhambra’, and boasts a similar artistic and architectural style since they were both built during the Nasrid period.

This fortified palace, built on the slopes of the Gibralfaro mountain has elegant gardens, palaces and labyrinthine walls that will take your breath away.

During this tour, you will discover how the Christian army conquered the Alcazaba, an almost impossible task. The Alcazaba was deemed one of the most impregnable fortresses of the Middle Ages.

The Alcazaba guided tour lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. We suggest you to bring sunscreen and a hat if it’s a warm day. Also wear comfortable shoes, we recommend you to avoid wearing high heels.

Important information about the guided tour

  • The entrance ticket it is included in the Alcazaba tour.
  • Remember that the Alcazaba is not suitable for wheelchair and for people with mobility problem. Additionally, even if not impossible, keep in mind that it is complicated to go with a stroller so we recommend you to avoid to visit the fortress with it.
  • You can pay the tour directly to the tour guide at the meeting point. Check the different prices in the booking section.
  • The tour DOES NOT inlcude the entrance to the Gibralfaro Castle, even if the guide will explain the castle during the tour.
  • Dogs ARE NOT allowed in the Alcazaba.

Cancellation policy

If the cancellation is the responsibility of the company, we will provide an alternative day and time so that the client has the possibility to participate in any other available tour without any additional cost. If it is not possible to find a solution, we will refund the full amount.

If the cancellation is the client’s responsibility:

  • If cancelled 15 days or more in advance you will receive 100% of the amount.
  • If canceled 7 days in advance, 50% of the amount will be refunded.
  • If cancelled less than 7 days before, there will be no refund, but there will be the possibility to reschedule the guided tour to another time
  • No refund will be made for late arrival at the meeting point or no-show.
  • Refunds will not be granted after the start time of the tour, regardless of the circumstances.
  • If cancellation is requested on the same day of purchase, the refund will depend on the date of the booked tour, taking into account the circumstances mentioned above.
  • f you change the date of your booking, and then decide to cancel the visit, no refund will be possible.

How to recognize our tour guides?

The guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point and they will be wearing a red shirt of Málaga Adventures. They will be very easy to recognise!

Accessibility

The tour is suitable for all ages, however it is NOT SUITABLE FOR WHEELCHAIR since the Alcazaba boasts many stairs and the terrain is very uneven.
Additionally, is complicated to visit the Alcazaba with a stroller.
